Former Fayette County Party Chairman Lane Watts was elected as the new 3rd District Chairman on Saturday (April 21st). His opponent, Charles Mobley from Henry County, lost by a very narrow margin. Mobley will serve as First Vice Chair.

Congressman Lynn Westmoreland was the keynote speaker.

Senator Seth Harp gave a brief update and served as Parliamentarian for the Convention.

State Representative Lynn Smith also spoke to the group and served as a delegate.

Fayette County Commissioner Peter Pfeifer was one of 38 delegates from Fayette.
